UNIT ONE: The Duo Scene

Assignment Description: A two-person scene from an established (6-10 minutes)

Scene Requirements

  1. 6-10 minutes in length.

  2. 20th-21st Century (1900's and up.)

  3. The characters must be the same Gender as the performers.

  4. Color Blind Casting rules apply.

  5. Not from the play The Glass Menagerie

  6. The Scene must be from a previously published full length or one-act play.

  7. You must read the entire play.

  8.   A notated copy of the scene will be Due at the end of the unit*.

THE FINAL COPY OF YOUR PAPERWORK IS DUE ON THE DAY OF THE PEFORMANCE

 

 

 

PAPERWORK for the Scene (50% of th3 140 points)

  1. SCENE - Photocopy of the scene with 1 the Objectives, the Obstacles and the Tactics notated*, 2 the Blocking written in, Important words underlined and 4 the definitions and pronunciations of unfamiliar words.  {25 Points}

  2. Completed Character Analysis Works Sheet- With no blanks and no “N/As,” “I don’t knows,” “?,” “I doesn’t says,” or “unknowns.”  {20 Points}

  3. Character History – ONE PAGE+ minimum.

                                            Typed: Double Spaced

                                                Neatly written in pen: Single Spaced

                                                                                  {25 points**}

 

 

  • * = If you have not notated the Objectives, the Obstacles and the Tactics 50% will be taken off your paperwork grade.

  • ** = If you have not included a character history 50% will be taken off your paperwork grade.

  • + = A Page is at least at least 5 paragraphs long with 5 sentences each.

  • Note: Both the performance and the paperwork aspects of this assignment must be completed to receive any credit.
